I'm a fan of N95 respirators, the N95 masks are a second option. Place a piece of carbon between the layers and it's like an FDA approved heppa filter for your face. Nothing against surgical masks, but not my choice of virus safety.

Surgical can handle wet droplets - N95 can only do that if it is a ‘surgical - N95’ - here’s info on how virus particles travel and aerosolizehttps://virologydownunder.com/flight-of-the-aerosol/?share=twitter&nb=1 …

Just maybe when we get a grip on this, I’ll take what you have to say into consideration. My child had pneumonia 4 times last year & has asthma!

Thanks for sharing but I see a logical flaw in their argument. If an asymptomatic person should not wear a surgical face mask, as there is no evidence of it helping a healthy person, then why should a health care worker, who is healthy, where them? Seems inconsistent in logic.

Here’s a supporting technical paper on how droplets travel, viruses aerosolize (corona does *not*), and masks are rated:https://virologydownunder.com/flight-of-the-aerosol/?share=twitter&nb=1 …

Oh good, I woke up with a sore throat wondering how long it would take 45 to get me a test kit.

...N95 masks should remain available for medical use only due to the complications of wearing them properly. But when it comes to simple masks, that's is literally what sneezing into a tissue is, a temporary mask that catches droplets. Masks do play a role, our government does..

This one supporting the use of face masks by the general population in the situation of pandemic viruses is also useful. If something is partially effective it can slow the spread.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2818714/ …

Nice article! Face mask
reduce the rate of spread!!!
