Dear Chef- Thanks for engaging on this impt issue. Correct that for those already sick, wearing a mask can prevent them spreading disease to others- but that’s not why most are buying/ wearing them. Please use your platform to help me share more facts!

I have to fly this week. I seem to have a mild cold with a cough, no fever. Wouldn’t it be better if I wore a mask on my flight? I honestly don’t want to wear one for 5 hours but I also don’t want to spread anything right now.

Wear your mask so others won’t get your cold. People with Compromised immune systems are the first to become very very sick by catching your simple cold.

BUT what if someone is a carrier, but does not know it as they are asymptomatic. They would feel they did not need the mask, when in reality they would. Isn't any precaution a good precaution?

I think the idea is those who REALLY needs masks (carriers, healthcare workers) CAN'T get them cuz if EVERYONE gets one, supply can't keep up!

Fairly easy to draw conclusions. Suddenly a run on masks during an contagious virus. I highly doubt they are all sanding their backdoors.

THAT makes sense.. Everyone wears a mask regardless of symptoms, no symptoms, logically, it seems the spread would be reduced. This issue has everything to do with supplies, demand, and rationing... which is what happens in National crisis!
