#maternalmortality impacts families and communities. We don’t do enough to address the preventable causes. Interesting fact: maternal mortality includes the time a woman is pregnant + 12 postpartum months.

Let's also not forget preventable and addressable maternal mental health such as post partum depression that can have negative effects on maternal child relationships and infant development. Treat our mothers in the US with love and let's protect and support them.

If that is found in US, Nigeria's own will be 3-10 times more, with inadequate personnels, scarce or no facilities in the health centers and above all ignorance and illiteracy

What about middle eastern and or Asian ppl

Women of color three times more likely to die than caucasian women. Access to adequate and affordable healthcare is critical for maternity and pre-natal health and success. Living wage and subsidized healthcare are not a luxury, they are critical.

So little support for new mothers. It used to be the norm that for months family’s spent time with new mothers to help but that family structure is all but gone.
