Mu husband met with surgeon last week to discuss pain mgt 4 his upcoming left shoulder replacement. His right shoulder joint already replaced. He is terrified of doing it again! He lived through 1st surgery with horrible uncontrolled pain. Scared of having no say over pain mgt.

Ah fewer rather than zero! Now we’re being more realistic. No problem utilizing fewer opioids as long as the patient is fully aware & in agreement/part of the conversation PRIOR to.

Be careful! big ortho group here now telling all pts no opiates & to get mmj card. Pts that are MDs and RNs then losing license to practice! Nsg/med boards cross check data w state mmj registry →not allowed practice w mmj. did u know? Unintended conseq.
