Today, the @Surgeon_General implied that legalization increases access to cannabis among youth. This is inaccurate. Regulation of cannabis requires businesses to check for proof of age, creating a legal barrier for anyone under the age of 21.

How does this study on an increase in cannabis related pediatric poison control calls in MA in any way prove that legalization increases youth access across the board? Data shows that youth cannnabis use has remained the same or decreased in legal states. Nothing to speculate.

youth access otherwise hasn’t worked to limit youth use for alcohol, tobacco, and especially e-cigs- but it’s supposed to work for MJ? Education on harms - which this advisory is about- is key.
