Diabetes—especially in communities of color—far too often leads to chronic, and end state kidney disease. If we advance kidney care in the U.S., then we will also advance health equity, b/c kidney disease disproportionately affects communities of color. #NAACPConvention

Wouldn’t advancing healthier lifestyle measures be the more appropriate thing to do to help prevent these diseases? Often I am treating multiple co-morbidites and then treating the side effects of those meds. We need to promote health in the country.

I agree we need to advance our practice of treating chronic disease for those that need it but we also need to prevent disease. People eat way too much and exercise way too little.
