Just had joint replacement yesterday sent home with 5mg Norco every 6 hrs I haven’t slept and can assure you I’m not comfy and happy!
So even worth opioids you aren’t comfortable?? Every patient is different, but just- wondering- Did you get an ERAS protocol? Tylenol, Celebrex, gapabtin, and a block before surgery? My whole point was with multimodal analgesia (not just opioids) most patients do better.
5 mg Norco isn’t cutting it. Let the doctors do their jobs. There is pain med to help ease pain but we can’t get them. The opioid crisis is an illegal fentanyl, heroin, etc crisis. 1% of patients addict to opioids. People are committing suicide due to pain.
Oh he knows. Politicians have got to stay out of the Dr/patient relationships. What he speaks of is truly barbaric. He spreads addiction phobia, like so many other politicians. For God’s sake, just keep the patient comfortable and out of as much pain as possible. Works for years
Check Norco's half life. They switched me from 4hrs to 6hrs within 24hrs after cervical fusion while I was still feeling pain at 3hrs. I cried because of the ride home. Yes waiting 6hrs to take a 4hr med people aren't comfortable. Do you even doctor, bro?
Tylenol is the biggest pain med scam on the planet, Celebrex is in a group of drugs that cause heart attacks, garbapenta gets you so intoxicated you can’t even walk, and expensive shots only work a couple days if any, and should not be used near a fracture,
First, I can’t take cymbalta as I have afib and it affects my heart. Never heard of cymbalta for acute pain or pre surgery. We need access to opioids thT work. My pain is so severe I’ve been up for almost 2 days. Definitely doesn’t help healing being under this much duress.
5 milligrams? Perhaps 10 mill would be slightly better. Possibly take the edge off. Everyone knows 5 mill is a mild dose. With a slighter edge off, it may help to sleep a couple hrs. Maybe. You do know under treated acute pain can become chronic if under treated? Of course you do
