Putting in some work in the ORs at ⁦@WRBethesda⁩ - got to help with some interesting cases and saw several people get Tylenol and other meds to help provide anesthesia and post-op pain relief with minimal opioids. They all woke up comfy and happy! 😃 ⁦@ASALifeline⁩pic.twitter.com/J5ukgkok37

Posting limited info like this is misleading and irresponsible. This suggest Tylenol is sufficient as the main source for post-op analgesia. It is not. Please try to be more responsible with your messages.

studies show 1000mg of Tylenol is equivalent to 6mg of morphine. Which is more than I’ve given quite a few patients in the OR. And I’ve definitely given patients only Tylenol and toradol (like ibuprofen) and had them wake up with minimal pain. Not for everyone but it does work!

Can you please provide the link to the study showing 1000mg of Tylenol = 6mg Morphine?

Here’s a full report from @NSCsafety that shows an even bigger effect. They reviews multiple studies and found, “that an injection of 10 mg of morphine is roughly equivalent to an oral dose of OTC ibuprofen.” https://www.nsc.org/Portals/0/Documents/RxDrugOverdoseDocuments/Evidence-Efficacy-Pain-Medications.pdf …

And here’s a study where 1000mg IV Tylenol was found equivalent to IV morphine (based on body weight, but in some cases greater than 6mg) - note, rib fractures are EXTREMELY painful!https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4608332/ …

And here’s an article w different studies comparing Tylenol to Morphine- including one where they found 1000mg equivalent to 10mg of morphine. 😮 -> Hope this helps! I found them all w 5 minutes on google. Lots of evidence for efficacy/ equivalence/ superiority of non opioids!

Would you really take that much Tylenol or IBU every day if you were a chronic pain patient? So you distroy your liver & your stomach on top of being in constant severe pain? All this in addition to the disease that is causing your pain. #painpatientsvote

Delusional, U appear not to know how this poison works. Responsible for more liver failures than any other 1 source, (esp. w/ alcohol) limits its own range and has only been recommended 4 mild pain by manufacturer until recently. It’s designed 2 raise UR mild pain threshold.

Do you even check to see how much Tylenol is already in their system? Many people take it regularly up to half the danger dose of 4000, because people like you assure them it is safe. So they think more is better.

Tylenol has been around since 1955 & ibuprofen 1969. If they had the efficacy/equivalent/superiority of non-opioids, they would have been used routinely for decades prior to recent yrs. Reason they haven't is bc it's not true. This is more PROPaganda in an age of #OpioidHysteria
