Putting in some work in the ORs at ⁦@WRBethesda⁩ - got to help with some interesting cases and saw several people get Tylenol and other meds to help provide anesthesia and post-op pain relief with minimal opioids. They all woke up comfy and happy! 😃 ⁦@ASALifeline⁩pic.twitter.com/J5ukgkok37

Posting limited info like this is misleading and irresponsible. This suggest Tylenol is sufficient as the main source for post-op analgesia. It is not. Please try to be more responsible with your messages.

Is it me? Or does this guy post a selfie daily, then adds a caption about medicine to make it ok? He seems more like a Kardashian than a Surgeon General.

Well my selfie WAS from the operating room... while providing clinical care... and simultaneously educating the public about ways to lower opioid use in the midst of an opioid epidemic... and my job is health communication/ education... I’ll try to do better next time! 😟

Also, I WISH I had half the twitter followers @KimKardashian has... then I could tell even more people to get vaccinated, carry Naloxone, exercise, don’t smoke... 😉

Are you aware that Insurance Companies (life ins. in this example) have denied coverage for some health care workers who carry Naloxone? CPPs who were forced to purchase subsequently labeled with OUD. Sadly, it is not without risk for these reasons.

You find it appropriate to do a selfie from the Operating Room? Very unprofessional!!!

If you want to lower opioid/heroin/fentanyl use get the DEA out there and make them do their job. There is very little or no prescribing of opiate medications anymore. Stop blaming these meds for the “crisis “

Why don’t you admit that the opioid crisis and OD deaths had multiple illicit opioids as the cause? You need to have major surgery and only be given Tylenol! Then we will see what you have to say. CPP’s do NOT need to carry Naloxone, we’re the ones responsible with our meds!!!!!!
