More residents finishing yesterday and new interns starting Monday, so here’s another of my #tips4newdocs:
Speak/be nice to EVERYONE you work with- not just the docs/ nurses. Janitors, cafeteria workers, and administrative staff often feel ignored by us, but can save your butt!

One of my most memorable moments when named SG was the goodbye reception
@EskenaziHealth held. There were more “support staff” there than clinical ones- a 2hr line! So many of them said, I’ll never forget you, because you always said hi to me. A little kindness goes a long way!4 replies 10 retweets 93 likesShow this thread -
Replying to @Surgeon_General @EskenaziHealth
I have a bachelor's degree and work as a lunch lady at an elementary school because I love the kids. I am proud of each student as they graduate to middle school. Be kind to all.

Maureen, I remember the lunch lady at my school! A little kindness can literally stick with someone for life/ change their life. God gave us all the ability to show compassion for a reason!
