      2/5 The Guideline is intended for primary care clinicians treating chronic pain for those 18 and older. misapplication includes applying the Guideline to patients in active cancer treatment, experiencing acute sickle cell crises, or experiencing post-surgical pain.

      3/5: The Guideline does not support abrupt tapering or sudden discontinuation of opioids. This can result in in severe opioid withdrawal symptoms including pain and psychological distress.

      5/5: The Guideline’s recommendation about dosage applies to use of opioids in the management of chronic pain, NOT to medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. The Guideline recommends offering medication-assisted treatment for patients with opioid use disorder.

      Ma’am, I know folks are frustrated- on all sides of the discussion. @CDCgov & the folks at @HHSGov + all who worked on the guidelines only want to help, and will always fight to do the most good for the most people. Outcomes aren’t always perfect, but we are listening & reacting

          It's a step in right direction 2 listen & react. Recent clarifications from @CDCgov must b acknowledged by all states immediately. Far 2 many outcomes have equated to #suicide #ForcedDisability. States will not take action until required to by federal agencies, incl your office.

          Some states fast tracking opioid legislation in direct contradiction of CDC HHS AMA FDA & your acknowledgement. If these bills pass & become law, it will = more #Patientharm & less #PatientCenteredCare. Legislators & state agencies are ignoring CDC clarifications & FDA warning.
