Yesterday I visited Vancouver WA & Portland OR-site of the NW #measles outbreak. Today I’m in Seattle to talk vaccines. It’s a great time to take a look at the oped I, @CDCDirector & @HHS_ASH penned on the topic -> Fear the disease and not the vaccine...https://nyti.ms/2XDs9js

Every parent wants what’s best for their child. We all must partner to ensure parents get accurate information delivered in a respectful way. All 3 of my kids are vaccinated because it’s clear to me as doctor and a parent, the risk of #measles is MUCH > any risk of vaccines.

I would also bet your children do not have MTHFR, genetic, epigenetic or mitochondrial disorders. Vaccines may be safe and effective for most kids but one size doesn't fit all. #HB3063

For my family the risk of vaccination is too high. If every parent wants what is best for their child, force has no place in American policy!

Please call Cheri as we discussed on your flight. Education is key not coercion and isolation. We who have had serious adverse events can’t disappear. We exist. You have the power. Cheri will listen to you. We need your voice now.

Your message, @Surgeon_General, to shift the focus from the #MMR vaccine to the diseases that it protects against is an important one, and should help parents with making informed decisions in the context of real risks.

My children were vaccinated with the recommended schedule and not a delayed or non-standard schedule. When my daughter needed chemotherapy, it was of upmost importance that she was fully vaccinated for her age. #VaccinesSaveLives

What about the ones who took the hit for the herd? Medical segregation and bullying the inured is not ok. Education not Segregation! Isolation is a health risk. No on HB3063
