"A lot of people still think e-cigarettes are not harmful. But studies show that nicotine is, pound for pound, as addictive as heroin." @Surgeon_General Jerome Adams at #CADCAForum Meet and Greetpic.twitter.com/1NhxnXNdll

But nicotine's harms are very small if they even exists at all!https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HqGNzd7MbHuBkkMnXkEIGwM64R-k3FxfRJocdZKlZpY/edit …
Delivery rate of nicotine is only one small part of the equation. Absent the MAOIs from lit tobacco the reinforcing potential of nicotine is drastically smaller.
@JeromeAdamsMD you never did comment on these studies. I'm still hoping you will have a look.https://twitter.com/skrymir42/status/1074119823934681088?s=19 …
So, how's it going on the fentanyl issue? Or have you put this on the back burner while you and others demonize nicotine? Teens are dying b/c of fentanyl & heroin or have you forgotten that?https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/12/health/drugs-overdose-fentanyl-study/index.html …
So one's opinion of something causing harm is all it takes to show harm, even if studies prove the very opposite? That's absurd!
Is "the opinion of communities" considered valid scientific evidence now? Whip up hysteria, act surprised when people believe it. Can you provide (non-anecdotal) evidence of nicotine addiction w/o additional tobacco alkaloids, ammonia and MAOIs?
So, you've gone from as bad as heroin to the "opinion" (or prejudice?) of communities. Dependence does not equate to harm. I consider myself dependent on physical activity to maintain my mental health. People with type 1 diabetes are dependent on insulin for life itself.
