    U.S. Surgeon General Retweeted MichiganPublicHealth

Your neighborhood and environment shouldn’t be hazardous to your health. Ideally, health promoting options should outnumber those that discourage or undermine health. Everyone should be afforded a legitimate and equitable opportunity to make healthful choices!https://twitter.com/umichsph/status/1070699203540570113 …

That’s easy to say, but what are we doing about it? What are ways we all can make this happen? Instead of giving tax breaks to Amazon in NY, why not use the money to make this happen? Tax breaks should be offered to small businesses that focus on the health of the community.

Yes, well written. Under the current administration, tax benefits the ultra rich and nobody else. The rest of us pick up the pieces and do the best we can.

And when I am talking about taxes, I mean mainly wealthiest US citizens to level the playing field. Keep up the good fight!

You are absolutely correct yet throughout America our citizens are living shorter lives due to the policies of this government. Policies that support the richest of the country who have many choices where the rest of can fend for ourselves. We can do better.

Then it may take government to step in and promote neighborhood equality. Countries in Europe that have higher taxes to ensure the group is taken care as a whole have better health outcomes than the US. You need to have a conversation with @POTUS.

        100% agree @Surgeon_General neighborhood & environment should be #Healthcare safe- it’s up to Individuals AND Government to guarantee it! We need, among other factors ( #Education ), a strong & strict @EPA , not a weaker one! @daniel_kraft @ExponentialMed @singularityu @UMich

This is a wonderful ideal to have. Social wellness is very important however there are so many people that live here in the US that make that difficult for this to happen for certain demographics.

Sorry to report that it is beyond difficult — but impossible. Those living on the margins of society based upon income and access to care are living shorter lives. Those that “lead healthcare” earn millions.
