As the Surgeon General, I am focused on educating the public about the severity of the opioid crisis. That starts w/putting Naloxone – a medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose- in the hands of police officers, paramedics, AND community members. #SaveALife

I might switch up the talking points. 1. Know the signs if someone is abusing opioids (like what someone may physically look like, what their actions may look like- etc) 2. Where to go for help (include a list for families) 3. Don’t be an enabler 4. Don’t give up
What about counseling and intervention at elementary school age. More money for counseling and therapy. Addiction is often the medicating of family pain, emotional pain, childhood trauma, etc.
