If we're reducing stigma, let's work on reducing stigma attached to the legitimate practice of pain management for lifelong incurable disease and disability. Pain medication is not just a problem; it can also be a mobility aid allowing access to normal life.

Pain affects 50 million Americans 20 million suffer from high impact life altering pain yet the most effective medication for blocking that pain and allowing them to partake in other tx modalities & preserve some quality of life is being taken away without batting an eyelash

Well said. Sadly, due to the Opioid Epidemic people who legitimately suffer with pain issues & are not abusing there pain medication are being demonized denied treatment and left to suffer. Even when a person has surgery now, anesthiesologists are leary about giving anesthesia.
