Important that people know my #OpioidSpotlight and #SGpostcard highlight both opioid over prescribing AND undertreated pain. BOTH are epidemics and both must be addressed to minimize harm. Go to http://SurgeonGeneral.gov 4 more info on how you can play a role.

No. No more decreasing prescribing! In fact, we need to start INCREASING PRESCRIBING! This HYSTERIA has saved NO ONE! You say we can't let the pendulum swing too far the other way toward OPIOPHOBIA but I'm here to tell you that it's already happened!

Yes Arianne, prescriptions at a 15 year low. Exactly. We [Cannot] go back to the [Severe] under treatment of pain in legitimate chronic pain diseases/conditions. Patient's are now suffering greatly, & increasing ->>>

Very true I thought people suffering from intractable pain were unfortunate victims, never thought of them as addicted. The Government has done a disservice to all, allowing this to happen is inhumane!

2/3 of 10million taking continous pain meds are being forcefully tapered down or off without indication nor consent. I am retired taking on pain refugees in small #’s. It is much worse out there than imagined. May need USPHS practitioners to help - docs drying up fast!

I knew Dr would leave or join a group like in my City. There are maybe 10 Dr who have their own office but they also can't practice in the Hospital. Like mine, so everytime I go in the hospital it's awhole new set of meds. But then I go back and get my ones I use from my Dr

Stop decreasing prescriptions for pain and cancer patients as it's causing irreversible harm for those of us who were stable. Also, this terrible stigma worsened thanks to the governments war against drugs. Quality of life isn't a crime - stop treating it like it is

We can treat [both] chronic pain patient's AND addiction compassionately. But imperative to have [open] communication between ALL involved. All patient's, specialists, leaders, with strong, open/honest leadership. No stigma, no bias, no agendas. Compassionate care & saving lives.

Dr's fear of losing their licenses has made it nearly impossible to take care of my young children at times because the pain from the rare and understudied disease I have is debilitating. I've been told several times that while they know I'm in pain they must protect themselves.
