Safe disposal of unneeded medications is critical to @HHSGov opioid strategy & we are proud to see partnerships like @PADrugAlcohol & @RiteAid supporting those efforts by installing medication disposal units & offering free disposal packets to patients w/new opioid prescriptions.

This is so Important! But disposal packets are not a sustainable solution. Drug take back kiosks and envelope solutions are trackable, render drugs completely destroyed, and leave no toxic landfill waste behind. Check out

Whatever you do, do NOT dispose of ANY opioid medication before the expiration date. Lock it up and save it. Our govt has proven they will not stop the genocide of pain and addiction sufferers. That medication might mean the difference between relief or agony in the future.
