When marginalized people make jokes about themselves and their communities they're hilarious. When privileged people make jokes about marginalized people it's not funny at all. Privileged people only have a handful of jokes about marginalized people and they all suck.

racial and other stereotype humour can be funny. and it doesn't necessarily need to be from marginalised people to be funny (though it does help that the "punching down" is removed). I think it's funniest and least cringey when the differences are celebrated rather than ridiculed

to clarify, crowder is a tool and doesn't deserve his platform. racial humour is a delicate needle to thread and the context that makes it funny and not just cheap evolves very quickly. crowder's "comedy" is cheap, nasty, and mean spirited.

I mean, I'm not Asian, so I don't know if I can make a comparison. His video on indigenous people was worse.
