I agree with you in that respect, but these kind of platforms have the power too directly effect society and even elections, They made money hand over fist selling ads giving chicken scratch back in return too the people who actually created the content in the first place.

Why do anything to reduce the amount of content being created by the people who made that site worth any money in the first place?
