Currently, 5 major/minor is prizepool of 6.5mil. With new system, 280k*6regions*3seasons is 5mil. Add three 500k majors and we end up with same value of 6.5mil. First season of DPC was 3mil majors three times a year (9mil). Distribution change is good. Budget is not.

Some of you may not understand the very cause for concern here, especially when you consider already impressive prizepool that is dota esports. And it can’t be explained in 280 characters. But I assure you, this is a big problem for everyone involved. There need be a dialogue!

Because everyone is on the idea that if they speak up, they fall off the wagon and someone else takes their place. Since nobody wanted to rock the boat, it took forever to get any change going.

TO losing money, more people demand for better structure for T2 and T3 scene and stability for each region. Big sum of money will comeback if the league work out, 3 majors with the same system for prize pool and TO will contribute for the prize pool as well as valve giving 500k
-
Valve does not provide full prizepool in DPC. And dota tournies, while difficult, are good enough that plenty of TOs want action (as can be seen with stream of 3rd party LANs outside of DPC). By which we will not see many in next season either, given the scheduling.

Less players = less profit = less budget for esports. Is this too hard to understand?

I was wondering exactly that a year or so ago when I tried to remember what prizepool it was when I was traveling with OG to Frankfurt in 2015, and I thought to myself it was way more back then, didn’t look it up though - i totally agree with you on this

I think Valve has realised that funneling millions and millions in to the same group of 100 individuals around the world has not grown their game's players base. I know that it is shit for you guys and I respect that. But it is just poor use of $?

Prize money has always rewarded the people on top. Spread the money out make it sustainable and the top teams will make their fortune at TI. Give exposure to more teams in a regularly competing league and feed those players and teams all year long.

100% support the decision for t2 scene. But i believe spreading that butter thinly to benefit the t2 scene do not stress the very top, but midtier teams. There’s so much to say but I will leave it at saying our scene needs a proper union that work towards a better future.

I mean, production costs money. Also, if players and teams arent being paid on time just because the TOs are still trying to recoup from operating at a loss, shouldn't the company making them do all these things shoulder more of the financial load? Idk, you tell us.
