I worked with at two papers — and what a credit to the craft. Talented, fine writer, extremely careful reporter. That he’s been laid off (because magazine was shuttered) at a company that’s still hiring is confounding

This week’s departures of some of the best of newsroom are heartrending. The staff is being shrunk and, although some are retiring voluntarily, the region will be the poorer. Familiar national story, of course, but in this case, it’s personal

Amazing. The most consequential advancement during the trump era is now an albatross. As if a Republican primaried Eisenhower in 56 by complaining about the highway system.
