Dear Doctor, you can help ME. The new #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis guideline by @NICEComms is out. Together, we can reach health professionals across the country & share this guideline with them. Learn how: meaction.net/2021/11/09/tel #pwME #DearDoctor #ImplementThatGuideline.

1/2 We welcome the release of the NICE guideline on ME/CFS. Occupational therapists have a key and unique role supporting people with ME/CFS both within specialist services and across all aspects of health and social care.

Thank you it’s been a very long road to this point and more work to do to make this a reality in practice but it’s a start.

Thank you for listening to feedback and being prepared to help work with those involved to get these published asap - this is about change and moving forwards not back

3/3 We will continue to work with NICE, our own experts, and other groups to help move towards the guidelines being published asap, and to ensure they can be supported in practice.

Specific doctors who are voicing their opinion do not represent all health professionals. Many support the new guidelines and want to work for change. This should be about professionals & patients working together for people who are suffering, not power or justifying the past

I'll think you'll agree Sue, that many clinics and many members of BACME have moved on from CBT/GET and accepted changes need to be made. This is from figures at the top of the royal colleges, not those implementing guideline!

I’m interested in why Royal College of Physicians are leading objections to NICE #MECFS when NHS services lucky enough to have a doctor have a GPwSI and most physicians have chosen not to get involved in this debilitating illness - so they won’t be the ones implementing them.

Thank GOODNESS I am managed by the Yorkshire Fatigue Clinic & not the inadequate local service who told me they knew GET was harmful but 'without it, we'd have nothing to offer'. #MECFS

Thank you to all the patients who reviewed the service @healthwatchyork and we have won Making a Difference Awards for fourth year - shows you don’t need CBT/GET to help people with #MECFS

Attended an excellent webinar run by @HSCCEC for health professionals. As a #LongCovid pt & nurse, @SueYFC presented a comprehensive, clear way of understanding & treating #fatigue in LC. Encouraging to see education starting in NI. Thank you 🙏 @pippa_mccabe @jennykeaneCAHPO

This reinforces why people with #ME need to take regular breaks to reduce brain fog.
Quote Tweet
There are some powerful messages in this article on why it's very important to take breaks between meetings when we're working virtually: 1) So our brains can "reset"; 2) So we can focus & engage better; 3) To reduce stress: forbes.com/sites/brucerog Via @lynnecazaly @Brogers825
