    Ron Daniels is a class act. He has also worked hard for equity in science and served as chair of the NAS next generation research committee a couple of years ago. A lot of the vision of the committee he led has not yet been implemented and we need to keep striving for it.

    Thanks-this reinforces the point that women don't self-promote. Given that they had no solution to even the playing field, it provides more fuel for the argument that we need to get away from evaluation mechanisms that rely on self-promotion

    I like this a lot-thanks for taking time to do it. One caution is the suggestion for institutional nominations. This works well if multiple nominations can be made. However, women and URM may not seek these for the same reasons they don't apply to these awards.

    This issue is the reason I am so opposed to the biosketch format as well....I have written to them multiple times arguing the format disadvantages women and minorities for this reason
