When people subscribe to my newsletter, I invite them to tell me about their work and offer to help them. Many reply. And then I reply back with suggestions for them. To build a relationship with an audience, you have to care. This is what caring looks like in my inbox.

8/ Successful newsletters are built around 4 themes, says. -Identity - Who you identify as -Personality - Who moves you -Service - Info people want -Utility - Info people NEED Create “utility” content and you’ll have an easier time jumping straight to paid, imo.

7/ If you write a post on something that’s a popular discussion topic on Twitter, find big accounts that discuss your topic & drop a link to your related relevant post in their replies (where it fits into the conversation of course and not just spamming)

6/ If you subscribe to an email newsletter in your subject area that you enjoy, reply to it and ask the writer whether they’d like to collaborate on a post. Publish part 1 in their newsletter, and part 2 in your newsletter, to cross-promote
