Can charge. If the evidence is there, the DA can charge BOTH mail theft and identity theft.

Also did you see the New Yorker article? SFPD is at about 2% arrest rate, and they let the Walgreens thief go at least once prior to the video, partly Walgreens wouldn’t press charges. That New Yorker article is a big win for justice reform.

This is silly. You don’t actually know what you’re talking about. You don’t read your own links, which talk about local law enforcement. Its not complicated. You can have a state law and a federal law. A person can be charged for violating the state law, but not the federal law

And vice versa. A good example is MJ. At one pt, sale of MJ was BOTH a state AND federal crime. NOW in CA, it’s only a federal crime. Here is an article where local police dept in the Bay arrested for mail theft. These arrests are made and convictions are obtained.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thereporter.com/2021/04/01/man-arrested-in-fairfield-on-suspicion-of-mail-theft/amp/ …. There are tons of these articles. But I’m not going to keep arguing with you bc you’re not trying to learn, you’re trying to prove me wrong, but I actually know what I’m talking about and you should look into the things I’m saying before disputing them.

I know some Russians that can demonstrate that you don’t need to break into a mail box for identity theft. The local jurisdiction is Postal. Read again. 12,000 cases in a year. The article you posted doesn’t even talk about sentencing. We know Fairfield cops are yo-go’s.

I’m confused you’re wearing the cloak of a social justice warrior but bleating about the DA like one of Trumps sacrificial lambs. You get that the recall movement is the new Jim Crow? Right up there with voter suppression.
