    On my dating profile, one of the things I make a note of doing well is cocktails. Because I do, I make amazing cocktails. Random guy: There's no way you could make better cocktails than me, I used to work in a bar and I like a drink. Me: Hold my Mint Julep. 🙄

    Studying Greek, it took me ages to figure out the accent sign, then after a while I kind of took it for granted. Ukrainian is also a phonetic language & I didn't realise just how much of a huge help the accent sign is, so now I'm using it in my notes to help with pronunciation.

    Despite the forecast of snow in Athens, there's been nothing but a little sleet in my 'burb. I am so ridiculously bummed out about it. Last year, my health was a shitshow, and I didn't get to see snow. This year, pandemic, no snowy adventures. I miss proper winters.

    Day of retail therapy. Online, not at the shops, because even though they reopened, I am perfectly happy doing it from my desk. More Serhiy Zhadan books. More bourbon. More bitters, of which the collection was so overwhelmingly huge, it took me 20 minutes to decide on one.

    I have five middle names, which is a family tradition. My middle names are: mum's name, grandma's name, great-grandma's name, great-great-grandma's name, great-great-great-grandma's name. I already have a double-barrelled first name, so pretty much never use them.

    I’m intrigued by middle names. How did people get them? Do they suit them? I got mine because my Mum liked one name, my Dad liked another... My Mum won, so my Dad’s choice became my middle name. It’s Ross btw. Do you have one? What is it? How did you get it? 🤔

    I keep randomly hearing This Mortal Coil's Song To The Siren. In a movie, on the radio, in the background on a phone call, random Spotify playlist... I mean, I like it (a lot), but it's a bit odd to keep hearing a 36 year old song so often in the past week.

    I had today off, it was a gorgeously warm and sunny day, so I spent several hours walking around my favourite parts of Athens (yes, wearing a mask and distanced). I don't think I've done such a long walk in ages. My feet hurt, but it was so worth it.
