  3. Does the brain reduce *motivation* to lower metabolic costs to cope with chronic low-grade inflammation? Fascinating theory on why motivation nosedives during inflammation:

  4. “Very quickly, Ben found that working anywhere meant working all the time. “ Giving employees the option to work from home does *not* reduce workload — it increases it, obfuscating the boundary between work and rest.

The brain’s alertness varies in 90 min cycles. (See ) This fascinating excerpt from the “Arthashastra”, an ancient Indian treatise on strategy written in ~200 BC, recommends the King divide his days into 90 minute blocks, to “remain alert/energetic”...!

ML represents a powerful set of machine perception affordances that until recently didn't exist. Utilize them. Much like computers in the 80s & 90s, it's not there to replace you, it's there to help you do your job better and at an increased scale.

I once asked a Vietnam War photographer how he withstood the pain of what he saw. He replied he always looked at the scene from behind a lens. Without that shield, with eyes wide open, the pain would have been indescribable. Thank you Fergal Keane for your immense courage.
