NYC jails want to ban physical mail, then privatize scanning of digital versions interc.pt/3XuQt5N by Why does this seem like a further attempt to dehumanize prisoners and moneytize their plight than a legitimate attempt to decrease illicit materials in prison?

Within the first week of Congress, the GOP intro'd a bill that would kill the IRS. What would it put in its place? A national sales tax that would let the rich off the hook AND make working people pay more. It wonโ€™t pass, but what does this say about the GOPโ€™s priorities?

Excellent thread from which helps to clarify and provide perspective on the FBI/Charles McGonigal scandal.

In April 2016, I broke the story of Trump and Putin, using Russian open sources. Afterwards, I heard vague intimations that something was awry in the FBI in New York, specifically counter-intelligence and cyber. We now have a suggestion as to why. 0/20

Journalist ethics question: if it turns out that a primary source for major article on national security/foreign interference is a foreign agent, should that be revealed?

It is almost as if NYT and WaP are trying to pretend McGonigal was never arrested. Both of their initial stories were buried (NYTs in its metro section). No follow up piece. Sure sounds like McGonigal was a regular source to the "intelligence" beat reporters.

And that may not be scary when it comes to most past members. But right now? Do you really trust any of the thugs McSpineless shoehorned onto the committee to be responsible enough to handle classified intel? Remember when Matt Gaetz threw a pizza party in a SCIF?

The recent revelations about not-criminal members past and present of the executive branch makes me wonder if the document problem goes much further. Know who else has or has had access to classified documents? House & Senate Intelligence members and the Gang of Eight.

It's well past time for Chris Wray to go. Incompetence or corruption soared under his watch, particularly in regard to January 6.

Jennifer Rubin makes a compelling case that Chris Wray is not the right FBI director for now. Why? ๐Ÿ“ŒHe presided over the worst internal infiltration in decades. ๐Ÿ“Œ Failed to act on intel about Jan 6 ๐Ÿ“Œ Failed to track domestic terrorist groups Time to go, Wray.

The Republicanโ€™t party ran on reducing inflation and cutting costs. What they didnโ€™t tell you was that the costs they were cutting were only for billionaires & corporations. Have fun when mom & dad lose their retirement $$ and have to move in with you. New from

Hey, have you utterly failed to take note of the attack on Paul Pelosi, or of the New Mexico election denier who shot up Democratic candidatesโ€™ houses? Trump LAUGHS at your โ€œguardrailsโ€. And โ€œenforcementโ€ AFTER the next coup attempt is tragically laughable.
