You’re supposed to wait couple of hours before you publish 4K video, for it to transcode to VP9 codec on youtube. Once it transcodes it’s available in that resolution for everyone, except mobile devices that don’t support 4K resolution screen...

I waited 2 hours after initial processing, and it came up with the "4K" option on my desktop and laptop and assumed wrongly that it would be fine everywhere.

@SkinSpotlights you're the only guy I know who uploads in higher than 1080 so do you know anything? -
I've never had an issue yet probably because of my video lengths but some tech YouTubers I watch have in the past ran into an issue where it refuses to process beyond 360p even after waiting 24 hours and the only solution has been to reupload. Unsure if its isolated to just 4k
