Emotional Cory Booker just hugged Chuck Grassley after massive 87-12 vote for criminal justice overhaul. Grassley attributes win to trust among diverse, core group backing the idea - including Jared Kushner, Dick Durbin.
Grassley’s first visit to Trump Oval Office, where he met Jared Kushner, was key, Grassley said. Kushner later met with Grassley in Grassley’s office, and Grassley went to Durbin to say he was on board with doing a comprehensive overhaul.
Lee earlier came up to and hugged Booker, Durbin on the floor. Huge smile on Lee's face as years of work turned into an 87 vote win.
Booker said one of his first conversations as a U.S. senator was with Lee on the Senate train about criminal justice. They hit it off on the issue and Booker was full of praise for the conservative Utah senator pushing the idea for years -- and for Grassley changing his mind.

I hope there is a picture of Booker hugging the man responsible for ramming thought the Kavanaugh nomination and dozens of other right wing judges and telling dozens of lies while doing that. We all need to see that and decide what we think about it.
