would you ask a virologist to read your MRI? If not, then why trust a radiologist to advise the country on #COVID19?https://www.forbes.com/sites/stevensalzberg/2020/10/26/the-bad-scientist-on-the-white-house-covid-19-task-force/ …

Would I ask a virologist to prescribe public policy measures with no training or experience in that area? Would he have experience in understanding the cost benefit of mitigation efforts beyond the virus?

I wouldn’t ask a virologist to weigh in on public policy either as he won’t understand trade-offs. I would listen to Jay Bhattacharya though as he is an epidemiologist with a PhD in economics.

But a public policy expert might ask a virologist about a virus.

I would trust 10k+ 🌍 experts including scientist from Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Stanford than 1 Fauci. But continue with your bias, rather than focus on the data and science

Seriously! Im shocked at how many of these guys are terrible at their jobs, and then publicity BRAG about it. No self awareness whatsoever.

it's a good thing we don't need to rely on Bloomberg for our policy cues Public health policies aren't about epidemiology or virology alone. it's about weighing the risks and the costs of policies ... but dealing with consequences isn't the intellectuals strengthpic.twitter.com/vMpA8Wgiek

Then why trust an epidemiologist to analyze data? Why trust an MD to read an X-ray? Why trust a journalist to on absolutely anything other than how to write an article? Your argument falls apart pretty quickly.

I think it’s hilarious that people think nobody has skills outside of their field. I have all sorts of high level skills that don’t show up on my resume. Are these people just projecting projecting their own limitations onto others?
