I wonder if something like that is going to become a Microsoft OEM requirement to make it easier for orgs doing straight autopilot. Drive failure? Pop in a new one, recover Windows from the cloud, autopilot and intune take care of the rest.

I know Lenovo is working on a similar feature. Not sure about HP but you would have to believe it will be common in the future.

Yes, BIOSConnect is Dell’s implementation of HTTP Boot. Think PXE over HTTP. I don’t have the full docs, but I will see what I can find/share.

I love the idea BUT Server addresses aren't permanent, http protocols evolve and encryption too. Just imagine that this will save space on SSDs for local recovery images and then it fails downloading because the ab or things. Even happens to bios updaters.
