Also, apparently Israelis have a lot of iodine deficiency: https://www.haaretz.com/science-and-health/study-israelis-have-among-world-s-worst-iodine-deficiency-1.5453908 … Thus, it will be interesting how much of a role both genetics and environment have in Israel's relatively weak PISA performance at the highest percentiles: http://shoresh.institute/research-paper-eng-Gruber-PISA.pdf …

        That's sefaradi/ashkenazi split

If Ashkenazis make up half of Israel's Jewish (Hebrew-speaking) population, then the top 20% of Ashkenazim get an avg score of 640. A score of 640 on PISA means an IQ of 121. If the top 20% of your pop have an average IQ of 121, what is the avg IQ of your pop?

Should be above 100, assuming the distribution is not bimodal

The problem is that most of society starts with the conclusion that we're all the same/equal and then explains away evidence to the contrary with ever more elaborate theories. Not unlike the invention of retrograde motion because they couldn't fathom a non-geocentric solar system

Conservatives always believe that the logic of their arguments will win the day. That’s dead wrong. @ScottAdamsSays understands.

Things like this are like affirming the trinity for catholics. Makes absolutely no sense but professing it sends a strong signal, "I believe".

Also, it's interesting that, among both US and ex-USSR immigrants to Israel, PISA performance is much worse than expected based on Jewish performance in the U.S. and USSR: https://www.timesofisrael.com/why-yoni-and-yael-cant-do-math/ … http://www.lagriffedulion.f2s.com/ashkenaz.htm  How much is genetics and how much is selective migration?

Frankly, what I'm especially curious about is determining what the genetic ceiling for avg IQ among Israeli Ashkenazi Jews is. On PISA, Israel has a weaker-than-expected top and thus I want to know if its Ashkenazis are, on avg, genetically less intelligent than U.S. ones.
