My review of Harvard geneticist David Reich's book on ancient DNA: "Who We Are:" http://takimag.com/article/reichs_laboratory_steve_sailer/page_2#axzz5AtyB42aO … Reich implies that if only Hitler had known the Aryans had come from the now-Slavic East, he would have have been ashamed to invade Poland:pic.twitter.com/0HeJWy9rOA

Yes, Slavs (except South Slavs) have higher steppe-related ancestry than non-Scandinavian Germanics

This might make sense for someone who really doesnt understand the make-up or the brunt of haplogroups carried west first during the original wanderings of the Proto-Indo-Europeans...

Best passage: “[M]igration” & “mixture”... serve as euphemisms for genocide of native males & rape of native females. Reich lists numerous examples from around the world where genetic data show that newcomers enslaved or murdered local men & turned their women into concubines.”

The Aryans - whoops, the proto-Indo-Europeans - were pretty progressive! Open borders! Open to interracial dating! Not so caught up on "purity!" Liked the idea of "mixing" with other people! A lot of that was mixing their stone battle axes in other people's skulls, but hey!

Realpolitik doesn't change morality. Invasions can be morally fine for example the D day invasion was righteous. Trying to conquer lebensraum and replace the local poulace is wrong. I as a 1/8th Prussian know that. Other forms of invasion are just morally grey

It's been a while since I read it, but this sounds like a partial validation of Hart's theory in "Understanding human history", that advantageous traits were developed in the harsh conditions of the caucuses which allowed those populations to invade and dominate others.

It's rather annoying a lot of the arguments against nationalism are just arguments against unrelated imperialism. You don't see people point out how White Australia policy Australia was horrible pre-1973, cause it wasn't. Unfortunately it's strategically sound for them to do this
