Pew Research Center: Our 2017 survey found that almost 70 million Nigerians plan to migrate to America or Europe in the next 5 years. http://www.unz.com/isteve/pew-70-million-nigerians-intend-to-migrate-over-next-five-years/ …pic.twitter.com/WKWX7DC81k

According to Pew, 74% of Nigeria's 186 million residents, or 137 million Nigerians (counting children), would like to migrate to another country, mostly to America or Europe. The biggest question of the 21st Century will be: Are borders racist? http://www.unz.com/isteve/pew-70-million-nigerians-intend-to-migrate-over-next-five-years/ …pic.twitter.com/9mGFuTxZCb

The UN's 2017 forecast is that Nigeria's population will more than quadruple to 800 million by 2100, more than expected population of all Europe. Will Europe and America become banlieues of Africa? Or will borders be defended despite being called racist? http://www.unz.com/isteve/pew-70-million-nigerians-intend-to-migrate-over-next-five-years/ …pic.twitter.com/8VQGSYMlG7

To the question "Are borders racist?", one of our two major political parties is on the verge of making this a platform position. Give it another few years. If Dems win House in midterms, it will be sooner.

No they aren’t racist. Clear borders are a manifestation of human freedom. Human beings come together to secure the good things & principles they hold in common. To be human is to experience ourselves as obligated by varying notions of good & just.

Which is another way of saying the Left’s politics is so very...apolitical. But it’s the nature of apolitical politics to be more strident, hence seem more political.

It isn’t a question of whether borders are racist. The welfare state is unsustainable with that level of third world immigration. Taking in that many unskilled people is certain national suicide on the economic implications alone, nevermind national identity.

That is an existential question. Countries that answer wrong won’t exist in any meaningful sense in 100 years.

And it’s not that the right is racist in wanting to see clear borders for all nations. It’s that the Left is nihilistic. Precisely because they deny to human beings their political nature.

I suspect it will soon be rephrased as, is racism - in the sense of discrimination - an unequivocal evil? And I further suspect that millions of those who currently enjoy the warm glow of signalling virtue will dramatically flip and become the most shrill of the new home guard.

The answer has to be "yes". Because we've accepted, and even embraced, the concept of disparate impact. Since borders disparately impact Hispanics, Africans, Arabs, Asians... they must be racist.

Actually if you control for economic conditions, you still find a vastly disproportionate homicide rate. As an interesting tangent, the same thing is true for whites relative to Asians. pic.twitter.com/43BYsqgn12
