African American women get a lot of government jobs that are reserved for US citizens, so they aren't as hurt as much by Hispanic immigrant competition as black men are hurt.https://twitter.com/dpinsen/status/975978024213647360 …

A lot of employers with entry level jobs who would have taken a chance on black males in the past hire Hispanic immigrants. @ChickfilA manages to find polite and helpful young black women to staff their midtown NYC store. I suspect they recruit via churches.

There's recent social science that says the "ban the box" movement (that forbids asking about criminal records on an initial job application actually perversely makes the problem worse, in that employers just assume black men have records. (2/2)

Reading the fed gov reports the big push is more executive minorities. So the big losers will be the competent non-minorities who get held back for promotion while the feds fill those 18,4% black exec slots they need. https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/diversity-and-inclusion/reports/feorp-2016.pdf …pic.twitter.com/waC7WhlJ4m

Note the number they are measuring against - 18,4%. AA's are overemployed (18,4%) based on workforce numbers (10,5%) but the reports push exec positions to match the 18,4% number rather than the 10,5% number. It's a 2016 report.

Would probably be much cheaper, more efficient & more enjoyable for all to have the government just cut them a check rather than force companies to hire & promote them regardless of competence.

Nobody is hurt in the aggregate because immigration adds to aggregate demand and increases growth creating more jobs. The main problem now is not creating jobs but making those jobs pay well. Raise the minimum age and give unions a fair chance to organize more workers.

As if raising the minimum wage and/unions ever did anything for most unskilled labor.
