Sorry, @ProfDavidDeming, but you've misinterpreted Chetty's results. There _is_ a big income gap between white women & black women, just as IQ gap would predict. What Chetty found is that black males, but not black females, do _worse_ than their parents' incomes would predict.https://twitter.com/ProfDavidDeming/status/975695264920064000 …

Finally, and most importantly – the fact that the black-white income gap is so large and persistent for men - but not for women - argues very strongly against any kind of genetic or innate ability-based explanation for racial wage gaps. 10/x

I think that's what he meant by "persistent." The fact that it's not persistent for black females, that there's no regression to the black mean for them, argues strongly against an innate IQ-only explanation.

Interestingly, black men used to make more than white women, now less. The biggest changes have been for older white women overall who now stay in the workforce and have mostly but not entirely converged with men.pic.twitter.com/P1PmHsU6oC

That’s income, not hourly wages. So not all that surprising?

Chetty's primary results are earnings though and I don't think these effects are just explained by the simple arithmetic of hours worked in a given year. Career-relevant skills, seniority, etc accumulate -> higher wages

Black men way way way underperform even when accounting for racial differences. Why is that? I think Chetty has shown us that boys, black and white, are likely to fail as men if they grow up without fathers.

That's why there was a wave of white crime in the South after the War of the Rebellion, since since so many Southern white boys lost their fathers. Except not.

1/ Immigrants from Africa are self-selected for intelligence. That's why they see opportunity in immigrating: they can use their brains to greater benefit abroad than they can in Africa.

2/ So, the fact that *immigrants* from Africa test high on IQ in fact argues for Africa's being a rather low IQ environment overall--offering little opportunity for intelligent people to find work that is appropriate for their minds (and money to reward those minds).

1/ I would expect Chinese immigrants to test higher in IQ than the overall Chinese population--that is, the dynamic would be the same as with African immigration, even though mean Chinese IQ is most likely higher than mean African IQ. But in other ways the situation is different.

2/ A lot of the Chinese that emigrate to the US, Canada, Australia, etc. are already fairly wealthy--Chinese technocratic society has worked for them--and so they have a certain freedom of movement and a desire to diversify their holdings, as it were.

Everything in that study is predictable by IQ gaps except for the wealth retention between White and Black women. The data doesn't have anything for Asian/Hispanic women in this manner. I'd go out on a limb and predict we'd see similar results for female wealth retention.

Since most BW (and general BC) don't expect or rely on being married to a BM financial equal or provider, or BM at that level intent on marrying a BW, she has to get a degree/stack and keep her coins because there's likely no Chocolate Prince Charming coming for her.
