And George W. Tree would have made, say, South-Central regional sales manager for a Fortune 500 firm. Hillary w/out Bill would have been Senator Durbin's chief of staff? Self-made men to run for Prez? Bill C, Reagan, Dole, Dukakis, Mondale, Carter, Ford, Nixon, McGovern, HHH.https://twitter.com/bronnercastile/status/973370443984912384 …

What if Trump had been born Donnie Drumpf from Queens? Probably a 3 times divorced used car salesman or at best a realtor who would have joined white flight to exurbs of Long Island.

Hillary without Bill would have been a judge, probably Federal Court of Appeal. She was in the right place (Yale law school) at the right time (early 1970s).

You won't find too many Federal appellate judges who couldn't pass the DC bar exam (as Hillary could not). Tangentially: Michelle Obama failed the Illinois bar exam on her first try.

Her academic achievements before failing the law bar suggests she didn't prepare enough not that she is stupid.

Hillary's early career is impressive enough for me to believe that she would have gone to be major person in American politics. By 1975 she was top Wellesley grad, Yale Law Student, featured in Life magazine, wrote an often-cited law article, worked on a Congressional Committee.

In fairness, I'd say Obama and LBJ were self-made men. Also, Dewey, Truman, Ike, Wilkie, Landon, Hoover, Wallace, McGovern, etc. Stevenson son of a Governor

Bush I - if Reagan hadn't selected him VP, probably would've been US Senator - TX. Bush II - would still be a Baseball GM.
