17 year olds in tribal South Sudan who score badly on Ravens IQ test probably won't be good computer programmers when they are 27. But they might have children who grow up in a more digital culture and thus score better on Ravens and perform better in IQ-demanding jobs.https://twitter.com/charlesmurray/status/970994505104134144 …

I'm glad to see @JelteWicherts position is getting traction. Is there enough by now to warrant discarding Ravens results for extremely low-education samples? Everywhere or just Sub-Sahara Africa? https://twitter.com/KirkegaardEmil/status/970874003274502145 …

One reason Flynn Effect of rising IQ scores exists is because early IQ test designers, such as Raven, correctly anticipated the direction world culture was headed. Dealing with 1930s Ravens IQ test is like dealing with 2018 airline ticketing kiosk.http://www.unz.com/isteve/the-flynn-effect-across-time-and-space/ …

E.g., it's not a coincidence that man who introduced IQ tests to USA, Louis Terman with his 1916 Stanford-Binet test, was also father of Stanford dean Fred Terman, who is the best candidate for Father of Silicon Valley (along with Fred's pal Shockley). The Termans saw the future

Have you ever had anyone tell you they couldn't *do* the Raven's Matrices? After a short period of looking at a series of them, I become distracted, disoriented and confused. Then I can't focus on the shapes.
