Per genetic evidence th flow of migration has been from Mesopotamia east and west. It continued, in varying degrees, through the centuries. Most recently there’ve been excavations of MGK style dry wells irrigation ditches in far western China.

If we look at the tendency of human migratory patterns we tend to travel longitudinally, not laterally. There are multiple good reasons, particularly when considering subsaharan Africa. The most obvious being the Sahara desert, the presence of problematic and aggressive tribes
