The Chinese have been breeding Tiger Mothers for 40 generations. The Jesuits brought the idea of meritocratic testing home to Europe from China, so it's hardly surprising that the Chinese are out ahead of Europeans in test prep in 2018.https://twitter.com/HobbesianM/status/951022560694669313 …

Obviously, to do well in the exam, you needed years of intense study, and the poor would be unlikely to be able to afford the time or tuition, but that doesn't make the system unmeritocratic, since free tuition is not built into the definition of meritocracy.

I was about to query you about that yesterday. I watched a BBC documentary the other day about the rigorous culture of tests and general high school education in South Korea. They had 3 white British students on a transfer to Seoul. It was a huge culture shock. Light years ahead

Then I looked into the International Mathematical Olympiad, and it is absolutely dominated by East Asians (particularly Chinese), even those from Western countries like Canada, US and Australia were mostly of Chinese origin. The West is lagging behind in second place. Curious.

I think it's been going on for far longer than 40 generations. The Japanese split from the Chinese about 2000 years ago. Same approach to parenting. Likely inherited from common ancestors.

The testing is a consequence. The inborn psychology is the cause.

At Clements high in Sugar Land, tiger moms show up to math competitions demonstrating a fanaticism surpassing the typical Anglo football mom.

The Chinese also have higher average IQs (at least in regards to their full potential).

Last time they went there they turned a collection of left wing radicals into a communist party.

Well, their method of infiltration won't necessarily work in the far east.

Responding positivity to them is a far cry from being infiltrated. They don't have power over CCP leaders the way they do over the US politicians. Look, Trump even married his daughter to one of them.
