I think there is more than that. I think the kind of Europeans who came to America early-on were more individualistic.

Nobody’s cultural heritage is Communism. Communism is merely a toxin/poison that is administered to institutions, societies, countries one is trying to enervate.

A brilliant point by Steve that makes perfect sense. Somebody could write a very useful book on American politics with the Tom Wolfe style prism focusing on status. Suggests that in order to break down conservatism coopting rather then attacking the founders is a good call.

patriotic americans like founding fathers (all of them, the actual people), not abstractions derived from their writings. most people who love founding fathers have no idea what are the differences in various ff's views of issues at a serviceable level of precision
