Audacious Epigone has a great post on what demographic traits correlate most with support for freedom of speech (in the long-running General Social Survey): basically, IQ on a 10 word vocabulary test: http://www.unz.com/isteve/support-for-free-speech-its-an-iq-thing/ …pic.twitter.com/ud6L6XEgtZ

What does this say about those Berkley and other students who riot and break things rather than listening to an opinion other than their own?

Just because someone is attending a university does not correlate to a higher IQ.

It is based on a 10 word quiz so it is more of a comment on word comprehension which would definitely slant the results. If a poorly educated, or semi illiterate is posed the question of free speech they would not necessarily understand the full implications & ramifications.

Dont think the correlation is an artefact of test design as he mentions. I think its a true corr. w/IQ. My experience in these classes is neither students nor instructors can follow the logic underlying their own args. Hence intersectionality = the ultimate model fitting tool /1

The only sociology prof I had who could follow logic also held a degree in math. She would concede when I brought evidence countering the stuff being said in class. /2

LOL! That is GREAT! I really think those who are proficient in two or more fields have have a much more wholistic (depth and breadth) view of reality than those who concentrate in one field. One doesn't even have to be proficient in the second or third, etc. field to reap /1

People have limitations. Lower vocabulary is a limitation. Correlates with lower literacy, opportunity and reasoning skills. Maybe not IQ, per se. The research methodology is dodgy and overly simplistic. I suggest "supports censorship" as a better dependent variable.
