"Identitarianism is a lament against change made by people fortunate enough to have been granted, through the arbitrary circumstance of birth, citizenship in a wealthy liberal democracy." As if culture just falls from the sky. http://malcolmpollack.com/2015/09/07/dawkins-and-diversity/ …

Elders of the liberal tribe speak of the Cosmic Lazy Susan that randomly flings human souls into existence, in a manner independent of their physical incarnation.

Agreed. But to a universalist to whom all humans are interchangeable atoms without inherent (or inherited) qualities, I suppose they would have to be.

It was arbitrary circumstances that led the Spanish to sail across an ocean and colonized the Inca, as opposed to the Inca sailing across the ocean and colonizing the Spanish. Coulda gone either way.

Sexual selection (good management) reinforces natural selection (good luck). Successful nations are like longstanding sprawling dynasties.

Despite claiming to believe personality and behavior is a result of nurturing, they also appear to believe the self is fixed to a “soul” of some kind, that could have taken root in any newborn (at the time of birth, obviously), making the specifics arbitrary and accidental.

The reality of course is that one’s self, personality, and identity are deeply connected and informed by the circumstances of one’s birth. I myself could not have accidentally ended up another race. Only my parents could produce me.
