Shock sociological discovery: Baizuo religious beliefs weirdly less prevalent among Blacks and Latinos.

FWIW, I know precisely 2 white people with an understanding of HBD, and at least 10 South or East Asians with that.
-
A South Korean friend is just finishing up med school and is well-read on genetics. He considers HBD to be common-sense and uncontroversial.

Googling this led me a Daily Kos article. The update on comments was telling. http://m.dailykos.com/story/2013/1/12/1178414/-Racism-has-a-new-name-HBD …pic.twitter.com/bdflVC9stV

2/2 Most black people, in my experience, tend to understand race is real. What's more, they are proud of their race.
-
Interesting. I'm a brown guy, and my first response to HBD was a sense of shame. I got over it, but I'm surprised blacks respond w/ pride.
-
Why would you respond with shame to something you have literally no control over?
-
Because I'm a human. And because regardless of your race, the world won't forget it, so why should you?
-
Is this similar to the idea of original sin?
-
Obviously, group pride/shame will not work every time. But it can help around the margins where the person is ambivalent. Make sense?
-
Yes, this seems logical.
-
If you don't like saying, "I'm proud to be [however you identify]," you could always say, "I'm proud of my [_____] ancestors and living kin.

1/2 I, personally, find I tend to have, on average, more reasonable conversations on race and genetics with black people than white people.

Again, Cochran's "Dumb people say X, smart people say Y, really really smart people say X" observation.

What's with the "Contrary to expectations" caveat? This has been observed in popular surveys for decades. Are the authors being coy?

Hate speech, safe spaces, and PC, not about sparing tender feelings, but about fear. Fear that natural truths may win out over noble lies.
