The Democrats should buy a 30 minute block on all networks on the Monday evening before midterm election to let Professor Bissell Brown free associate. Or maybe a 60 minute colloquy between Hillary and Professor Bissell Brown. Suggested topic: “Men.” http://www.unz.com/isteve/washington-post-thanks-for-not-raping-us-all-you-good-men-but-its-not-enough/ …pic.twitter.com/e5hCdOMm5R

Is Liberal America Suffering a Mental Health Breakdown? http://www.unz.com/isteve/is-america-suffering-a-mental-health-breakdown/ … In Haidt & Lukianoff's "The Coddling of the American Mind," they cite evidence of a national nervous breakdown beginning on campuses in 2013 (2 years before Trump came down the escalator):pic.twitter.com/nvfNe3eKFx

You're not going to like this theory - I follow Rolf too - but Tinder was introduced in 2012 and fundamentally altered the dating game on campuses even among those who never downloaded it: it became harder to deny your (un)desirability and easier for the anxious to become moreso

Please elaborate. This is interesting. How did it affect people who never used it?

By altering the shared expectations of courtship and dating. It helped spread an attitude of lighthearted transactionalism towards sex which made it harder for those who need emotional validation to get it.

Decoupling effect. Sex /= emotional bonding. Essentially it has transformed to mutual masturbation and people seek the greatest sexual high instead of the greatest emotional high. sex was propped up in value by being coupled to long term relationships. Low value if it’s separate.

My shit take: People are hypochondriacs, and not only about physical ills. It's also status-seeking. Other examples: PTSD, ADD, those who claim to be "a little OCD" and the recent surge of people claiming to be autistic (I assume they really mean Aspie)

Reading the book now, they are not Trump apologists. Ex: They are uncharitable about his “fine people on both sides” Charlottesville statement, which @AnnCoulter (&I) view as applying to the statue issue, not extremists.
