None of these fertility stats are from any of the 40 or so countries of sub-Saharan Africa. As Bill Gates recently got around to admitting, sub-Saharan Africa is heading for massive overpopulation. What that implies for the rest of the world is grim.https://twitter.com/Cicerone973/status/1045813263152422912 …

"Except sub-Saharan Africa is so frickin' large. You can fit half a dozen Europes in sub-Saharan Africa" That's not what the map on my wall says! My wall map says Sweden is enormous, with plenty of room for all the extra people born in little old Congo.

We used to be taught the Mercator Projection was a contributing factor to colonialism. Turns out, they were right, but in reverse.pic.twitter.com/lIVHd3Vzbi

Because Africa's such a tiny continent, and Western Europe is so huge and sparsely populated by comparison, there's only one place for them to go!

Perhaps too much use of the misleading Mercator Projection has convinced Europe's leaders that it's only reasonable that tiny Africa's surplus population be accommodated in giant Europe.

The problem is more of quality than density. Three hundred million Chinese moving to Western Europe will not destroy the place. Three hundred million Africans will do just that.

300m Chinese moving to Europe would definitely destroy the place, just in a different way. If only we had developed some sort of technology to prevent boats from going places we don't want!

I am not in favor of Europe becoming a Chinese colony. Only countries that really lack the human resources to develop themselves should be willing to accept such a takeover, but the fact is that Chinese immigrants will not turn your cities and your country into a shithole.

If ethnic Russians ever feel threatened by the perspective of demographic dominance of their minorities they can always liberate their republics and transfer to them the remnants of these populations.

Have you read “The Coming Anarchy” by Robert Kaplan? He notes that most of SSA’s new populations will wind up living in huge dysfunctional mega-cities. These will act like Petri dishes for incubating crime, disease and terrorism.

It shouldn't imply anything for the rest of the world. If non-African political establishments haven't the will to keep out Africa's jobless, starving & desperate surplus, then what *that* implies is truly grim. Of course, this won't ever be an issue for leaders of China & India
