I was wondering about the origin of their obesity data too. It really looks suspicious... Did they just take a shortcut and overlay obesity rates by race over households & neighborhoods?

Re: Obesity Map I spent some time in Santa Monica recently and the locals are in absurdly good shape by 2018 USA standards: it's attracted fitness buffs since Muscle Beach days in 1950s. But Santa Monica doesn't show up as even close to non-obese as Koreatown. So, I dunno...

Probably not enough of an effect in a large area like Santa Monica but if you're a guy who lifts as his primary form of fitness you're going to be "overweight" or even "obese" by measures meant to assess large populations

The difference is that what’s blue
on the obesity map is red
(Asian) on the racial dot map.
The boundary of @CUSDK8 has amazing effect on obesity. Must be the menu in school cafeterias. https://demographics.virginia.edu/DotMap/ pic.twitter.com/jWSJftPWDi

Spot on map of NYC area. NJ’s Bergen county is heavily Asian. Bluest spot is Fort Lee/Palisades Park/Leonia. Palisades Park is majority Korean town, perhaps highest % in entire US. Other two towns are Korean/Japanese. You can see Filipinos in Jersey City too.
