        Another funny thing is that if you go to Google's Mexican site, http://Google.Mx , and search for "inventors Americano," you'll get back a less silly list of American inventors than you do from http://Google.com :pic.twitter.com/b3VWoeIwLO

        Bing's list of the top 50 "American inventors" is not as overwhelmingly black as http://Google.com 's amusing list. But neither one has room for the Wright Brothers, inventors of the airplane, among their Top 50 American inventors.

        Leaving out the Wright Brothers in accounts of American history is not uncommon these days. In 2010, I read a 1277-page AP US History textbook, "Nation of Nations," which never mentioned the Wright Bros.         I googled "British inventors": the results 98% white men (Ada Lovelace is the token woman). I suspect once The Guardian clues into this it will be changed.

        i think there may be something else to it like US scientists gives something else perhaps when people wanted to look at black scientists they started using "african american scientists" so the algorithim just shows black scientists when you write american scientists
